Due to rapid fluctuations in fuel prices, effective March 25th, 2026, Kootenay Charters will be implementing a fuel surcharge policy as follows:

All quoted charter services are based on a Diesel price of $1.70 / liter. Pricing is taken from the Natural Resources Canada Petroleum Products and Crude Oil Prices web page. The prices for Diesel Fuel purchased in Kelowna BC are what we use.

The fuel surcharge will be one percent for every ten cents per liter the price is above $1.70.

$1.71 to $1.80 will be a one percent Fuel Surcharge on top of the quoted charter price (less GST).

If your charter price is $1,000 plus GST then a 4% fuel surcharge would add $40.00 to the price.

$1.71 to $1.80 = 1%
$1.81 to $1.90 = 2%
$1.91 to $2.00 = 3%
$2.01 to $2.10 = 4%
$2.11 to $2.20 = 5%

The fuel surcharge will apply at the time your charter or ticket is paid for. If you have already booked and paid for services, there will be no fuel surcharge added.

If you book a charter for a future date, your fuel surcharge will be based on the date you pay the full cost of the service. If you prepay today for an event in the fall or next year, the fuel surcharge will be applied at today’s rate. If you put a deposit on a future event and pay the balance just before the event, you will have the fuel surcharge that is in effect on that date applied to the cost of the charter.

While in effect, the fuel surcharge percentage will be updated in our system to reflect the price of Diesel each week on Monday.
